DIY: T-Shirt Scarves - Dope Accessories.!
So I was surfing the web and I found this cool do-it-yourself project that I wish I could take credit for but its only borrowed.!
Now on to the DIY Scarf Project::
You will need:
1. An old t-shirt
- I've been told this will not work on 100% cotton shirts...you can take a risk if you like. ( I used a t-shirt that was 60% cotton and 40% polyester.)
- Also the shirt should not have any seams on the side (it will not stretch out if it does).
- Larger size shirts seem to work better. ( In case you want to double the scarf around your neck.)
...Now onto the project...
1. Lay your shirt out on a flat surface.
2. Cut the hem off of the bottom of the shirt. (Put it aside because you will use it later.)
3. Now cut strips off of the shirt vertically that are about 1 to 1&1/2 inches wide all the way up to the armpit of the shirt.
4.Grab 3-4 strips of the shirt in both hands, and gently stretch them out. The strips will naturally curl.
5. Do this to all of the strips. ( Be sure to stretch them all to the same length.)
6. Take the hem that you set aside and use it to tie around all of the strips to keep them in place. ( I tied mines in a bow to make it pretty.)
All done.!
- Get creative try draping them, combining colors, wrapping one end with access fabric, braiding the strips for a braided scarf, or even adding beads/pins.
This is would make a great Christmas gift and could cost nothing to you..!
I got a lot of compliments the day I wore mines out and about shopping.!

Fashionista on a Budget..!
I know that everyone could afford to cut back on spending, especially now when gas prices are sky high along with everything else.! There are certain areas such as grocery, entertainment, and clothing where we could shop on a budget and no one would be to tell the difference.
Well I've always been able to find the best bargains on anything, especially clothing.! So here are a few ways to stay super cute for super cheap..!
1. Shop on the clearance rack.! -- You can always find cute items on the clearance rack. You just have to be willing to search hard & long, but rust me it pays off in the end.! Also 9 times out of 10 there's an extra percent off of clearance items. So you get the item at a reduced price and then an additional percentage is taken off at the register .
2. Don't be afraid to use coupons.! -- Coupons always come in handy.! I know, i know....i used to think coupons were just for grandmas too! After working in retail for years I've seen coupons cut totals in half! I myself have gotten coupons out of magazines and even gotten items for free. Whether its a shirt, panty, or pair of earrings...free is FREE.! So next time you're are flipping through the sales paper or the cashier hands you a coupon PUT IT TO USE.!
3. Sale your old clothes.! -- Yeah....that's right I said sale your clothes..! There are many places that buy gently used clothes. If you all are anything like me we all have that drawer, closet, or tub of clothes that we've either worn once and pushed it to the back or never even wore at all.! Stop letting these items waste away.! Quickly find a Plato's Closet or google a place near you that buys gently used clothing & get some extra cash quick.!
4. Shop at your local thrift store.! -- When I was younger I never wanted to get too close to a thrift store and now I die to get in them.! You can always shop for unique finds at a thrift store whether you are in search of clothing or jewelry.! Many people are rocking the antique/throwback look and a thrift store is a great place to find the original pieces. Even if you are a crafty person you can always buy a pair of jeans and put your own touch on them, whether its cutting them into shorts, bleaching, or adding jewels to them. (Also, don't be afraid to shop in the men's section ladies.!)
---------------------------------------------------
Here are a few items that I picked up off the clearance rack.
(cute pink sandal paired with a pink top)
(same shoe pictured with a cute peek-a-boo shoulder tribal top)
(here are two simple tees that came from the boys section but would look super cute & comfortable with a pair of dark denim jeans -- a nice relaxed look)
I purchased all of these items plus a pair of pants (not pictured) all for $30 at Rue 21.! & I even got a coupon for my next purchase. =)
So remember ladies there's nothing wrong with shopping on budget. Be smart with your money.

Unique Finds.!
Are you unique.?
If you're anything like me you probably strive to be unique. Now days every looks and dresses the same. So in order to be like the ordinary Jane Doe I do A LOT of online shopping.
Lately I've been focusing on unique accessories because we all know an accessory can make or break an outfit. & it turns out that social networking sites, can be a great way to access unique finds. Take a look at a few of my finds on the internet...
First stop ... lets meet the owner of JaziThangs.!
My name is Jaz, I am the founder/owner of JaziThangs. I am 19 & a student of UNLV. JaziThangs started as a thought my junior year in high school, but it didn't become an actual brand or company until March 2011. The name JaziThangs comes from my name & the meaning of the word jazzy. I have a passion for accessories & was fed-up with getting pieces of out places like Forever21 & have 50 other people with the same pair on as myself. I hand-make every one of my pieces and try them out making sure they will not break in daily exercises. I do custom pieces as well using the contact box on my site. I make about 6 pieces of the same earring & once it hits 6 it's discontinued, unless it's just an all-time top-seller. I started with earrings and have recently added bracelets & rings, who knows what else JaziThangs might bring :D. Stay tuned & Always Keep it JAZI, Rock your style with CONFIDENCE!
...she has super cute pieces jewelry & i plan to place an order for a pair of her tuxedo earrings asap!

BOLD or Bad.!?
Recently as I did my weekly trend seeking, while browsing the internet, I ran across a new fad...what I like to call candy lips.!
Of course to some this may not be a new fad because back in the day you could catch artist like Lil Kim rocking a similar style heavy.
Now you can catch certain entertainment divas like Tae Heckard , Keyshia Dior, Amber Rose & Rihanna
rocking this stlye..
Keyshia Dior (pictured above in white lipstick) recently launched her own line of bold lip color.
I visited her website Ka'oir.
I must say afterwards I was very tempted to place an order. Not only does she have so many shades to choose from, but they all have very fun names as well.!
WANT THE LOOK?
But like many of you out there I was not sure what shade, if any, would look right with my skin tone. So to solve that problem I took to the web and stumbled across a website (which url i dont remember, sorry! ). It gave very good instructions on how at home beauty products could be made into lip color in order to test shades before you go out and buy them..... exciting right.!?
1. Gloss your lips with lip chap or very thin layer of lip gloss.
2. Find an eye shadow ( close to the lip shade you are dreaming of ).
3. Take a small eye shadow brush ( or your finger ) and apply a generous amount of shadow to your lips.
( Depending on what shade you are going for apply as much or as less that you would like. )
4.Take a lip gloss ( preferably the one with a brush ) and apply a thin layer of gloss on top of the eye shadow.
& now you have candy lips.!
(excuse my ratchetness it was an early morning project) |
These are products of my result.! I have to say even having fair skin ( work with me now! ) it turned out fab.! I could see myself rocking candy lip colors, but just certain shades. Also depending where I'm wearing them to. You won't just catch me chilling on the couch watching tv with electric blue lips.! So.. I guess I'm off to buy my first official color lip stick... until next time luvs.!
